Department Name: Computer Science and Technology

Abstract

Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

Description We explored the practical realization of Software Defined Networking and made contributions that have enabled this 100Billion dollar industry.
Exploitation Route One set of outputs, measurement benchmarking for SDN networks; has seen significant uptake by the standard forums in that industry.
Sectors Aerospace, Defence and Marine,Creative Economy,Digital/Communication/Information Technologies (including Software),Education,Electronics,Energy,Retail,Security and Diplomacy,Transport

Description We have published software tools and contributed to the research and education platform NetFPGA. Specific tools of interest from this work include OFLOPS, now a full integrated part of the SDN test ecosystem.
