Network Measurement as a Service

Lead Research Organisation: University of Glasgow
Department Name: School of Computing Science

Abstract

Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

Description We have developed mechanisms for measuring the performance of complex, virtualised ICT infrastructures shared between multiple tenants typically over large-scale, datacenter networks. This facilitates the timely assessment, debugging, but also reconfiguration of server and network resources to sustain high levels of service performance at all times. We have extended these mechanisms to the Edge of the netowrk and to resource-constrained enviroments (e..g, the IoT), while we have also steered our more recnet research to the epxloitaiton of such mechanisms for enhancing the resilience of future and virtualised networks and services.
Exploitation Route Datacenter operators and application providers can exploit the developed mechanisms and APIs for enhancing application performance and infrastructure resilience in short timescales
