Planned Impact

The EPSRC investment will allow the University to increase its equipment provision. When allocating the funding we will select those equipment items which support research strengths of the ECRs at Warwick to in order to maximise the use of the equipment and alignment to the University Strategy. By sponsoring ECR who are developing their research career we expect impact in both short and long term; this will extend to PhD and PDRA researchers who will also make use of the equipment.

Applicants will prepare a business case explaining why this equipment is important and will help them develop new skills and access techniques which would not be available otherwise. This business case will include the expected impact they hope to achieve from their research and the investment provided by EPSRC. Impact expect includes high quality research publications, new collaborations with academia and/or end users, development of new research proposals or new training opportunities for the equipment users. Obviously these impacts will vary across disciplines and will be in some cases hard to quantify but we will expect applicants to monitor usage of the equipment.
