Ensuring the Future of Multi-User "Hands-On" NMR Spectroscopy at Bath

Lead Research Organisation: University of Bath
Department Name: Vice Chancellor's Office

Abstract

It is of strategic priority to refresh and enhance our extensive NMR service within the Material and Chemical Characterisation (MC2) Core Research Facility, used by Bath researchers from across the EPSRC remit. The instrumentation will refresh and significantly enhance the capabilities of existing underpinning equipment, with a resulting step-change for the characterisation of samples across the University's research portfolio. The addition of high-sensitivity probes and automation tools such as sample changers will also increase the productivity of the service. Building on Bath's proven track record of effective management of research infrastructure, we anticipate long-term sustainability of the new infrastructure and high levels of usage - with a user-base spanning undergraduates, doctoral students, Early Career Researchers through to established research leaders.
