| Description | There use of the research began, and was fully documented in the 2014 final report on this grant. These related to the take up of findings on the part of Zimbabwe diaspora organizations, care sector regulatory bodies, and in form of oral evidence to parliamentary enquiries on asylum, irregularity and immigration control, all of which were fully reported in the 2014 final report on the grant. Within Zimbabwe, one major lasting impact was the legacy of the display of Zenzo Nkobi's photographs of exile and solidarity during the liberation war within the Bulawayo Gallery in Zimbabwe, as it attracted new publics to the gallery, and its success also influenced subsequent public history events. Subsequent follow-on grants (funded by Heritage Lottery) led to the production of educational resources on asylum for UK schools, produced jointly with the Zimbabwe Association, and the deposit of some material relating to the research within the Zimbabwe Association archives that were deposited at the Black Cultural Archives, and remain accessible to the public. |

It created a new body of oral histories, an archival deposit, schools packs and a touring exhibition that included some of the materials from the ESRC project and took some of the themes forwards. The project ran from January 2014-May 2015. |
