Description The work supported by this grant on assessing the potential of fossil corals from drill cores to yield records of past climate has:

a) proved that these corals can be used as recorders of past climate and sea level change, and,

b) helped establish collaborations and relationship that contributed to significant UK involvement in the IODP drilling of Australia's Great Barrier Reef (Expedition 325)..
Exploitation Route Proof of concept for using drilling of fossil reefs to help reveal the nature and drivers of past climate and sea level change.
