Nachane, D.M. (2011) India Development Report 2011

Description The main findings from the project on political economy relate to the resilience of democratic institutions in India:

The study suggested that a greater involvement of market players in large investment sectors does not necessarily lead to less corruption overall a greater role of market forces may lead to higher economic growth rates, but not necessarily to greater social welfare.
Exploitation Route The outputs from this study are widely accessed by academic and student community, journalists and other thought leaders not only in India but in several other countries, most notably in Asia. The top echelons of the bureaucracy in India as well as researchers in foreign universities and multilateral institutions are part of the regular readership of the India Development Reports.
