Description | This grant enabled a colleague, Prof A Abbi, at the U of New Delhi to consult with the PI over various aspects of her research into a poorly studied group of languages spoken in the Andamanese island and to prepare her Dictionary of the Great Andamanese Language (published 2011). |
Exploitation Route | Prof Abbi's work on this language group has already been highly influential and will continue to be so. In particular, her analyses of possessive constructions in Andamanese languages continue to serve as one of our testcases in thinking about possessive constructions. |
