Description Research study concluded that; Older people are not a homogenous group which can be treated as a single entity, it is important to recognize that there are important variations with the older population and policies should be targeted at specific groups eg poor in health and those living alone. Family members, neighbours and community leaders play a significant role in providing support to the elderly. Local knowledge should be utilized when designing and delivering services. The key priority for older people is to maintain their indepenence and dignity. Having an adequate income to ensure financiall security to meet both daily and long-terms needs is essential to the wellbeing of older people.
Exploitation Route Government department must work together in a strategic way to ensure the needs of older people in communities are understood and met. Statutory organizations must be proactive in conjenction with service users.Community based initiatives should be supported and developed.
