SoLiD Electronics

Lead Research Organisation: University of Oxford
Department Name: Oxford Physics

Abstract

Modern detectors need dedicated readout electronics to be able to achieve best performance. This proposal is to finish the development of the electronics for the MARS neutrion detector that is also going to be used in the SoLiD neutrino oscillation experiment.

Planned Impact

The MARS detector technology is a cheap replacement for the traditional 3He based neutron detectors. This grant will help to finish the development for the electronics of this technology. The group is already working with KROMEK a UK radiation detection company to commercialize this technology and the grant will have the potential to facilitate this transition.
