Description The work supported by this award sought to address key topics in nuclear structure physics, in particular how nuclear shapes evolve and provide stringent tests of state-of-the-art theoretical calculations. This has resulted in a number of already highly cited publications. In particular, this work exploited new technologies in radioactive ion beam physics paving the way for future work at new international facilities. The work also led to a number of high-profile outreach talks.
Exploitation Route The analysis methods presented in the publications supported by this award will be used by others performing experiments at soon to be completed facilities.
Sectors Energy

 
Description The semiconductor detectors used to perform experiments supported by this award also have applications in more applied fields, for example nuclear security and radiation monitoring. In particular, discussions were initiated during this award to work on producing 'solar cell' detectors which have extensive cross over with quantum technologies.
