| Description | In this award we examined the development of a pilot system addressing the long-wave (YJH band) coverage for the ELT telescope spectrograph (now known as ANDES). A master comb (1-GHz Ti:sapphire laser) and optical parametric oscillator (OPO) pumped by this that provided coverage from 1000-2000nm. The project allowed us to test laser frequency comb stabilization and filtering concepts which have informed future science and engineering work for our continuing involvement in the UK ELT consortium and the international ELT-ANDES calibration unit consortium, in which Heriot-Watt is piloting the laser frequency comb technology. |
