Abstract
Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

DUNE Phase II: scientific opportunities, detector concepts, technological solutions
in Journal of Instrumentation
| Description | A system of electronics for collecting data from a type of detector called a high-pressure gas TPC for neutrinos was tested to ensure that it could successfully read out this type of detector. The electronics were optimised to cost orders of magnitude less than existing solutions. We determined that all of the metrics tested in this work were met so we can realise this significantly reduced cost. |
| Exploitation Route | The DUNE collaboration can reduce the estimated cost for its Phase II near detector by using this electronics |

| Title | Teststand of an overpressure argon detector |
| Description | We have created a test platform for high pressure detectors at the Fermi National Accelerator Lab (FNAL) in the USA. This was done by moving an existing pressure vessel and infrastructure from the UK to FNAL and combining it with a beamline, beamline instrumentation and equipment purchased through the STFC capital fund as well as readout electronics designed through my FLF. |
| Type Of Material | Improvements to research infrastructure |
| Year Produced | 2023 |
| Provided To Others? | Yes |
| Impact | The UK's submission to the new detector R&D programme includes in its gas detector stream (DRD1) a work package of testing infrastructure which is based around TOAD. We are also starting a campaign of beam tests towards the future DUNE experiment this year. |
