Description Although still in progress, some findings have already been made. Amongst these are a number of antedatings for Scots words such as castelward can be predated from c.1420 to 1369. It also considers more widely how different types of names relate to everyday language and can be used as lexicographical evidence from the medieval period to the present day.
Exploitation Route As the award is still active, it remains to be seen all of the contributions which may be made. However, the antedatings may be of use to lexicographers as may the more theoretical points about the suitability of name evidence. The latter could also be of interest to academics.
