Development of novel chromatographic workflows for deep-proteome analysis

Lead Research Organisation: Newcastle University
Department Name: Inst for Cell and Molecular Biosciences

Abstract

Deep proteome analysis of mammalian cells and tissues is hampered by its complexity and limited dynamic range of mass spectrometers. We will develop novel chromatographic approaches that will allow us to perform deep proteome analysis of mammalian cells using strong-anion exchange and reversed-phase chromatography approaches. Moreover, we will develop and apply novel methods for sample preparation of in vivo samples for which only small sample amounts are available. We will apply these methods to the characterisation of in vivo subsets of human and murine macrophages.
