Multifunctional nanocoatings for steel

Lead Research Organisation: University of Warwick
Department Name: WMG

Abstract

Project aligns with the research remit of 'multifunctional materials' and 'Manufacturing the future' of EPSRC.
This project will explore novel types of multifunctional polymeric-based systems containing nano-platelets (such as graphene or other inorganic nano-platelets) for steel protection. Insights into the performance of the functional nanocoatings will be gained through a combined approach of new synthesis methodologies and advanced characterisation of nano-scale microstructure and bulk properties.
