Analysis & simulations for the Sheffield neutrino physics programme & related research centred the Fermilab/CERN projects SBND, DUNE, ProtoDUNE

Lead Research Organisation: University of Sheffield
Department Name: Physics and Astronomy

Abstract

The project concerns construction and analysis of data for the short baseline neutrino experiment (SBND) at Fermilab in the US. The student will gain skills in particle simulations, detector physics with noble gas liquid argon, experiment operations and assembly including of anode plane arrays comprising multi-wire detectors and cosmic ray triggers. Analysis work will focus on sterile neutrino searches and studies of detector performance including electron transport.
