Large-scale Structure of the Universe

Lead Research Organisation: CARDIFF UNIVERSITY
Department Name: School of Physics and Astronomy

Abstract

This project will explore theoretical and computational techniques for studying the large-scale structure in the galaxy distribution in a framework based on wave mechanics rather than the traditional particle- or fluid-based approaches. The wave-mechanical approach has a number of advantages over the other techniques, including that it can be used to study situations in which quantum effects are important, such as when the dark matter comprises a very light scalar particle.
