'Perfect' Glycopolymers from Biological and Chemical Synthesis.

Abstract
Polymer chemistry has been revolutionized by controlled polymerization, enabling access to complex architectures but even the best methods are complex, heterogeneous mixtures and methods to control sequence are still missing. Here we will hijack the tools used by Nature to obtain 'perfect' polymers with carbohydrate side chains; glycopolymers. The use of these materials in cell storage and as anti-infectives will be explored.
