Strong lensing of type Ia supernovae and its cosmological applications

Lead Research Organisation: Durham University
Department Name: Physics

Abstract

(1) tests of gravity using supernovae lensing and dynamical properties of haloes and galaxies; this project involves analysing simulation data, making mock lightcones and analyse strong lensing maps; (2) using machine learning to predict the merger rate at each snapshot step away from a 'observed'/'target' halo, and to predict halo properties together with the merger history.
