Modelling dark matter substructure and dwarf galaxies around

Lead Research Organisation: Durham University
Department Name: Physics

Abstract

The project will first focus on the dynamics, evolution and properties of substructures in the gravitational potential of the Milky Way. It will involve developing new computational methods to simulate and analyse the dynamics of subhaloes with the goal of predicting the properties of dark matter substructure in the solar vacinity. These same methods will be applied to modelling the Milky Way satellites.
