Adsorption and Dissolution of Carbonate Minerals

Lead Research Organisation: University of Cambridge
Department Name: Chemistry

Abstract

Carbonates are important minerals in many oil reservoirs. The binding of species on these minerals is key to enhancing the recovery of oil. In this project we will use a range of approaches including laboratory-based depletion measurements and more advanced state of the art neutron reflection measurements, to quantify the adsorbed behaviour. In addition we aim to address high temperature and pressure adsorption.
