'Classification of phenomenological supersymmetric and non-supersymmetric heterotic string vacua'

Lead Research Organisation: University of Liverpool
Department Name: Physics

Abstract

Following on from previous work on the classification of free fermionic string vacua for different SO(10) subgroups, I explore novel computational techniques for exploring the space of vacua, such as the identification of fertile regions in the space of SO(10) vacua. The long term aim is to utilising techniques from machine learning to find such fertile regions. A second thread to the project is analysing non-supersymmetric string models in the free fermionic formulation and finding models that can be argued to be stable through ensuring tachyons are projected out the spectrum and moduli are fixed.
