Abstract

Research Project Details: Childhood exposure to industrial strikes and non-cognitive outcomes: This paper would investigate whether childhood exposure to strikes and industrial action in the UK during the 1970s and 1980s had a differential impact on the formation of non-cognitive skills, depending on the age at which children were exposed to these events.

Reductions in infant mortality on female labour force participation: This paper would aim to look at the effects of reductions in infant mortality, as a result of increased coverage of insecticide treated bed nets, on female labour force participation in Tanzania (or possibly other African countries).

Increases in female labour force participation and changes to the gender wage gap in the UK : This paper would follow the analysis conducted in Bhalotra, Fernandez, and Venkataramani (2017) in looking at the structural estimates of the effect of increased female labour force participation on wage structure in the UK.
