PI Contribution My project is the second project in the lab which UCB has part funded. We have developed an in-vitro cell model of Parkinson's disease which is being utilised to explore potential treatments, as well as identifying potential biomarkers of the condition. The later aim is the main focus of my PhD and I am currently working towards this goal, to date optimising a super-resolution technique for examining pathological protein oligomers in conditioned medium.
Collaborator Contribution UCB have provided funding and pre-formed alpha synuclein fibrils which are used to induce alpha synuclein pathology within our cell model of Parkinson's disease. They have also provided advice and guidance, and have agreed to set up bimonthly meetings to monitors it's progress.
Impact So far there are no tangible outputs from the collaboration, however, it is still in it's infancy.

Results and Impact the centre for regenerative medicine is involved in a lot with the local school and I have often helped show the students around the facility. I am also part of a group which goes to the school each week to help the pupils with exam preparation for science exams.
