Molecular epidemiology approaches to study inflammatory mechanisms associated with chronic diseases

Lead Research Organisation: Imperial College London
Department Name: School of Public Health

Abstract

The proposed project will take a new approach in the study of chronic inflammation, of which the results may lead to novel findings of potential treatment targets, and potential markers of disease state. The potential findings may be of clinical importance in the prophylactic or active treatment of chronic inflammation related diseases. This may also build on current understanding of the impact chronic inflammation has on particular phenotypes presented in individuals and gather further information on the genetic, phenotypic and metabolic features of chronic inflammation
