Enabling metalloenzyme biotransformations within a continuous oscillatory baffled reactor.

Lead Research Organisation: Heriot-Watt University
Department Name: Sch of Engineering and Physical Science

Abstract

The pioneering project will investigate the possibility of producing a high value chemical using proprietary enzymes in a continuous plug flow reactor. The scientific objectives are to investigate the effects of operational parameters on the kinetics and conversion of the biotransformation, while the technological goal is to establish a reactor platform to produce this high valued chemical continuously in a reliable, robust, control and predictable manner.
