Abstract

The research work proposed here is based on the design of effective exhaust aftertreatment system by taking into account the diversity of the emissions and catalyst architectures. The reduction of the engine exhaust temperature and the incorporation of more stringent emission limits and procedures, requires improvements on the catalyst activity under low temperature operating conditions i.e. cold start vehicle conditions. This project investigates new thermal management strategies as well as advanced manufacturing techniques to propose efficient aftertreatment architectures to improve emission reduction. Base on a large experimental data collected during the project an AI programme will be built with main aim to be able to predict the information such as emissions reduced on specific catalyst under specific conditions.
