Symmetries of String Theory Partition Functions

Abstract
The aim of this project is to better understand the structure of string theory partition functions. To do this, we study the various symmetries that these partition functions possess including modular invariance and mirror symmetry. This involves the application of algebraic geometry and modular forms to string theory.
