Polariton Simulators

Lead Research Organisation: University of Southampton
Department Name: Sch of Physics and Astronomy

Abstract

The overarching scientific goal of this Project is to devise a prototype analogue polariton simulator. This main goal includes such specific problems as developing the semiconductor-based technology in solving non-deterministic polynomial problems, identifying the highest impact problems it can address, benchmarking it against other platforms, and - as a final result - integrating it with existing supercomputing systems. The optimization problems, which the polariton simulator can address, are ubiquitous in nature with solution strategies in high demand in various fields of science and information technologies, ranging from economics and finances to biology and physics.
