Blockchain Security, Privacy and Scalability

Lead Research Organisation: Imperial College London
Department Name: Computing

Abstract

The research will focus on security, privacy and scalability issues involved with blockchains. A striking aspect of recent developments in blockchain is the proliferation of heterogeneous token models. Motivated by the emphasis on security, privacy and scalability, a primary focus of the research will be to investigate and systematically characterise the variety of economic models underpinning cryptocurrency tokens, as well as explore the implications of these models. In addition, this research will consider various applications of blockchain, including addressing how blockchain could potentially enhance programmatic advertising. As such, this research has immediate and tangible opportunities for application, including directly informing key players in the programmatic advertising arena.
