A Privacy Aware Multi-Agent Access Control Framework for IoT

Lead Research Organisation: Lancaster University
Department Name: Computing & Communications

Abstract

The Key objectives/aims of the research are; How can we restructure and extend traditional access control models to meet the needs of IoT systems; How can be developed a distributed access control mechanism, which will enforce the outcome of at the edge of the Internet of Things (IoT); How can we to optimize the mechanism developed in.

The novel physical sciences/engineering methodology that will be carried out during the course of the project will will develop an access control model, i.e. a formal specification of what a subject can and can't do within a system; They will develop an access control mechanism, i.e. a low-level real-world implementation of the access control models enforcement; They will develop and explore optimization techniques to reduce the overhead (i.e. additional processing times) an access control model adds to a system.
