Optimising composite sandwich structures for impact and blast mitigation
Lead Research Organisation:
Imperial College London
Department Name: Mechanical Engineering
Abstract
The aim of this PhD is to evaluate mechanical and high strain rate properties of composite sandwich structures as to their suitability for new demanding future applications. This is with
the consideration of identifying the best arrangements of hybrid skins, with tailorable sandwich cores of conventional and syntactic type, in sandwich composites.
