Macro-Policy

Lead Research Organisation: University of Oxford
Department Name: Economics

Abstract

I am keen to work on areas of macro policy, trade-offs between monetary and fiscal policy and the changes to policy efficiency if we are entering a secular stagnation world. I am also keen to
develop more accurate behavioural models of reference-dependent agents who depart from time-stable rationality, stressing that this will not always be appropriate, and then to build micro
foundations into macro models to better reflect human behaviour. I am also keen to consider the ideas of MMT, but using the tools and models of modern macroeconomics, to try and build a
debate that keeps everyone engaged and keeps the profession moving forward in the same direction
