Exploring the causes and consequences of deficits in social cognition within clinical populations: a study of motor function and interoception
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Birmingham
Department Name: School of Psychology
Abstract
By delineating the structure of social cognition and examining two putative sources of variance in socio-cognitive ability, interoception (the perception of internal bodily signals) and motor ability, this project will work towards a better understanding of the profile, and potential causes, of social difficulties in clinical conditions like Parkinson's Disease (PD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
