Signal processing and machine learning methods for wireless communication networks

Lead Research Organisation: Loughborough University
Department Name: Wolfson Sch of Mech, Elec & Manufac Eng

Abstract

In this project, signal processing and machine learning algorithms will be developed for addressing the problem of spectrum scarcity, network traffic congestion, demand for low latency and high data rate interactive services. Various machine learning methods will be investigated including deep learning and reinforcement learning methods. These methods will enable the wireless networks to have necessary cognition and intelligence to adapt to the environment. The new methods will be applied within the context of 5G networks, IoT and M2M communications.
