Searches for dark matter with semi-visible jets at CMS

The CMS experiment at the LHC provides an exciting opportunity to search for Dark Matter candidates. This project will focus on beyond standard model processes that allow for production of dark matter via a portal. The focus will be on final states with multiple jets plus missing transverse momentum. The project will involve working on all aspects of analysis strategy including developing background estimation methods and signal selection optimisation. Understanding the operation of the CMS detector, and working on trigger optimisation will also form part of the project.
