Development of Label-Free Electrochemical Impedance Biosensors for Surveillance of the Immune Response

Lead Research Organisation: University College London
Department Name: Medicine

Abstract

The aim of this project is to investigate the novel use EIS biosensing for highly selective determination of inflammo-immune biomarkers (e.g. cytokines and other inflammatory mediators) and to assess its applicability for the evaluation of the immune response in blister exudate fluid via inclusion in an extracorporeal device. Research will focus on use of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy for real-time monitoring of the inflammo-immune response and its applicability to investigate the dynamic interaction between tissue fluid and compounds of interest.
