Porous Materials for Next Generation Li-S Batteries

Lead Research Organisation: University of Nottingham
Department Name: Sch of Chemistry

Abstract

The project will focus on the development of porous materials including metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and polyoxometalate materials (POMs) as membranes to control diffusion processes in Li-S batteries. The project will involve the investigation of both MOF and POM bases materials in terms of their stability to in situ use in Li-S batteries, the efficiency of such systems to beneficially influence diffusion of Li cations whilst controlling/inhibiting polysulfide diffusion within the operating system.
