The Geography of Serious Youth Violence and the Political Production of Urban Marginality in 21st Century London

Abstract

This research will investigate serious youth violence in the context of the political production of urban marginality, with a specific focus on the impact of policies of 'regeneration' and 'managed decline' on ethnic minority council estate residents in 21st Century London. It will employ four case studies using a mixed methods approach, including housing, crime and health statistics and a range of quantitative and qualitative techniques.
