Social and ethical implications of environmental management

Abstract

Broadly speaking, I am interested in the social and ethical implications of environmental management and the possible approaches that can help manage these implications. As such, I am interested in the role that corporations and governments in Western society play in helping to solve environmental challenges whilst at the same time contributing to social inequality. As the demand for corporate social responsibility grows, I wish to explore what it means to do business sustainably, and, accordingly, how to meaningfully measure this. I am interested in exploring different ways to assess the impact of climate-related business decisions on the
countries under which the company would operate, with a focus on the connections between the energy sector and Africa.
