Dynamics of Bacteriophage infection in bacterial colonies.

Lead Research Organisation: University of Edinburgh
Department Name: Sch of Physics and Astronomy

Abstract

I'm studying the population dynamics of phage infection within bacterial colonies, focussing on the response of bacteria to individual phage types or cocktails of phage. I will also be using custom made bioreactors to simulate more complex systems that are comparable to a real-life bacterial infection, with the view of then using phage as a therapeutic treatment of infection.
