Establishing the traceability of novel theranostic isotopes: from production to imaging.

Lead Research Organisation: University of Manchester
Department Name: Physics and Astronomy

Abstract

This PhD is part of a collaboration between the University of Manchester, The Christie NHS
Foundation trust, the National Physics Laboratory and the CERN-MEDICIS project. It aims to
establish quantitative imaging of novel theranostic isotopes for molecular radiotherapy,
combining cancer therapy with diagnostic imaging. The project will provide new primary
standard measurements of radioactivity for a range of isotopes with theranositc applications.
Methods of producing these isotopes at a clinical scale will also be investigated.
