Development of smart manufacturing ecosystems based on intelligent and process integrated fixtures

The project aim is to develop intelligent fixturing solutions able to adapt 'live' to the manufacturing process in a continuous manner while offering the ability to communicate with other elements of the manufacturing system (e.g. machine tool, other fixtures). This will be achieved by the development and implementation of bespoke sensing/actuation architectures integrated within the fixture and novel control strategies.
