Beyond Linguistic Translations of Marginalised Texts

This research project aims at enhancing the representation of marginal voices from minor languages and cultures. In my research, I explore alternative approaches to translation in order to ensure that seemingly untranslatable texts can enter the cultural domain. I focus on the writings of the proto-feminist Soviet-Georgian author Marijan. I explore the ways in which contemporary art practices can contribute to mediating her texts.
