Studying CP violation with neutrino interactions

Lead Research Organisation: University of Warwick
Department Name: Physics

Abstract

Measuring CP violation in the neutrino sector is the next major development of neutrino physics. It will require new experiments and a vastly better understanding of neutrino interactions in matter. This PhD is focused on this subject. There will be two parts to the PhD: the first is working on a next generation experiment, called Hyper-Kamiokande; helping to develop the data acquisition system, and the second will be using data from the current T2K experiment to measure neutrino interaction modes more precisely and hence diminish the systematic uncertainties in the Hyper-Kamiokande analysis.
