Nano and microscale imaging for research into secondary batteries
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Nottingham
Department Name: Sch of Chemistry
Abstract
I anticipate to follow my interest for both molecular imaging and electrochemistry, whist building upon that learnt throughout my 4th year research project to undertake this PhD. I would like to use electrochemical techniques to understand the use of new electrolytic additives within secondary batteries, whilst optimising extensive imaging techniques (such as electron microscopy and atomic resolution imaging) on cells to gain a greater understanding of what might be happening and how to improve on current secondary battery technologies.
