Establish an accelerated design framework for lattice structures employing machine learning algorithms

Lead Research Organisation: University of Surrey
Department Name: Mechanical Engineering Sciences

Abstract

The aim of this project is to establish an accelerated design framework for lattice structures employing machine learning algorithms. This framework will be developed through three objectives: 1. Create a data bank for various unit cell topologies. 2. Use the data bank to train a data driven machine learning model for a two-scale topology optimisation process utilised to design heterogeneous lattice structures. 3. Consider the uncertainties associated with the data bank and asses their propagation through the framework.
