Applications of Artificial Intelligence for Drug Toxicity Predictions

Lead Research Organisation: University of Liverpool
Department Name: Computer Science

Abstract

I will apply artificial intelligence to understand the impact of existing and proposed drugs on the functioning of cells. I will investigate phenotypic effects such as disease alleviation, drug toxicity, or any other observable traits of interest. I will approach the problem from a graph-based perspective, by synthesising previously obtained experimental data into graph representations which can be used for inference and prediction of phenotypic effects. In particular, I will focus on graph databases and graph neural networks.
