Quantum Photonic Integrated Circuits

Lead Research Organisation: University of Cambridge
Department Name: Physics

Abstract

In this PhD project the student will integrate a quantum dot source directly onto the chip, to efficiently collect photons and manipulate them in a single package. Photonic chips can be manufactured in house at Toshiba, or purchased from external suppliers. The work will involve assembly of devices, optical characterisation and photon correlation measurements at state-of-the-art facilities in Toshiba Research Europe Ltd in Cambridge. Interested candidates are encouraged to visit the lab. The PhD will be based in an industrial lab (Toshiba Research Europe) in Cambridge.
